  1. 'Hounds & Jackals' v1.0s (SH&J.EXE) is a Windows shareware version of the
  2. ancient Egyptian game of 'Hounds & Jackals' -- A game of the Pharaohs.
  3. Requires VBRUN300.DLL to play.  A popular game of ancient Egypt, played
  4. by millions from 2100 BC to 400 AD, is still fun and enjoyable today.  
  5. Historically accurate, full of stunning graphics, brimming with 
  6. Egyptian lore and history, lots of great game sounds, an original MIDI score; 
  7. all this combined in an easy to learn and play format.  It's fun,
  8. it's educational, it's exciting -- The only
  9. remaining question: Will you have the courage to face the 'glitter in the
  10. dunes' and the sinister power of an ancient and evil gift from a Nubian
  11. sorcerer to the Pharaoh?

  37. 'Hounds & Jackals' is written in Visual Basic 3.0.   As such it
  38. requires that VBRUN300.DLL exists in your Windows System directory.

  53. I have a 'slick' install program that takes care of everything having
  54. to do with installation, but for file exchanges across BBSs 
  55. it takes up too much room -- adding almost 300K to the files.  
  56. So . . . to install 'Hounds & Jackals', please do the following:
  57.  
  58. 1. Check that VBRUN300.DLL is in your Windows System directory.  If not,
  59.    please download a copy (there should be a copy on the BBS from which
  60.    you downloaded H&J.ZIP).
  61.  
  62. 2. Create a directory SH&J.
  63.  
  64. 3. Copy all the files 'unzipped' from H&J.ZIP 
  65.    to this new 'Hounds & Jackals' directory.
  66.  
  67. 4. Create a program manager icon for SH&J.EXE by adding it as a file
  68.    in your GAMES program manager group.
